Port Quick Delivery Saves 89, 000 Convertible Pesos

From January to May this year, workers from Carupano Port, in Las Tunas, saved about 89, 000 convertible pesos in quick delivery to the national economy.

The information was given by engineer Juan Antonio Musa Guntin, general director of this port services enterprise, and he noted that in this period, 38 ships operated with a load of 228, 164 tons of several merchandise.

The staff’s performance helped the fulfillment of the merchandise production in the 101, 3 percent and the implementation of the plan of expenses in the 96.4 percent, what helped them go beyond in 27, 5 percent of profits foreseen.

This port facility from the northern region of Las Tunas is specialized in foreign marketing and the importation of lamination, reels and structures, and they will soon add the manipulation of scrap metal coming from abroad.

This entity is located 66 kilometers far from Las Tunas city, and it is the only one in the entire country having a plant to put the material into sacks, which permits them carry out exportations in that way of 10, 000 tons of sugar and supply the demand of the domestic economy of the province with this procedure.
