The Anger of IIeana Ros-Lehtinen

This is her response on behalf of the extreme rightwing originally Cuban and the Congress to the increase of international tourism in Cuba

The head of the Foreign Relations Committee of the House of Representatives of the United States (US), Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, who has a long history of lies against Cuba, adds another section to insist on an assumed spread of cholera in Cuba.

The new plot has already been crushed with strong arguments from Havana, including the frivolous argument that the authorities are silent about it for their interest not to affect international tourism arriving in the territory.

Which is Mrs Lehtinen´s source? Versions from the groups publically financed and directed by Washington in Cuba, who days ago echoed US news media.

This is her response on behalf of the extreme rightwing originally Cuban and the Congress to the increase of international tourism in Cuba, from 5.5 percent between January and May, equivalent to the arrival of 1, 400 000 foreign visitors, something which, among other things, scratches they further their pale fiction "the Cuban hell."

Lehtinen´s great tragedy giving opinions is her fragile credibility, badly damaged by the string of lies that had gone together with her performance, not infrequently exposed.

In October 1999 she performed a show before the Committee of Foreign Affairs of the House of Representatives on the issue of an alleged torture by Cuban military pilots after US bombing the Vietnamese territory that were taken as prisoners during Washington´s aggression against this country.

As reported, there were 19 American pilots, as Ros-Lehtinen told, were tortured in a field called Zoo by the Cuban Fernando Vecino Alegret. Later, it was known the man last mentioned was not in Vietnam during those years.

In response to a letter from Lehtinen, democrat President William Clinton noted his Defense Department investigates these claims in 1973, when the alleged tortured military returned to the US.

"Former prisoners of war survivors saw photos of possible suspects. However, these efforts could not reach a conclusion and the identity remains unknown, "Clinton said then.

In early 2011, during a visit to Haiti Lehtinen did as head of the Foreign Relations Committee from the Low Chamber, she knew the scope and results of the Cuban medical assistance over the years in that country, and on her return to America she did not conceal by promising in the Capitol, Washington, she would make her best efforts to eliminate it.

Those brigades of Cuban health professionals had been constantly praised, among other things, for the important job carried out in Haiti against Cholera epidemic.

In early days that year, news dated in New York unveiled that the United Nations Program for Development had advised Havana that the US government “froze” $4, 200, 000 USD allocated by the Global Fund to Fight AIDS and Tuberculosis.

Observers based in Washington linked this fact to conspiracy mounted by Ileana Ros-Lehtinen to affect the growing prestige of Cuban medicine and hamper the work of human solidarity recognized abroad.
One of the main objectives of Ros-Lehtinen and her lieutenants have been to hit and if possible stop the rising international tourists coming to Cuba for reasons including general security they experience in this country.

Here is one reason of the U.S. blockade on travel bound for Havana, very affected for years by the entitled Helms-Burton Law and the called Bush Plan, both passionately driven by Ros-Lehtinen.

In 1977 there were bomb explosions in tourist hotels in Havana that killed the young Italian Fabio Di Celmo and injured others.

Research and testimony revealed that the mastermind of these attacks aimed at creating panic among international tourists traveling to Cuba was the Cuban-born terrorist Luis Posada Carriles, closely linked to the extreme rightwing based in Miami.

To the surprise of many, Ros-Lehtinen dared to organize there a noisy public tribute to Posada, the man who hired Central American mercenaries to carry out crimes in Havana, a fact admitted during interviews to The New York Times and the Television in Florida.

Now Ros-Lehtinen made public another of her statements, this time to follow the way of her honored man in her attempt to confuse and terrify the increasing tourism in Cuba.
