Local Bodies of the People's Power Show Progress

The preparation of the presidents of the People's Councils in the monitoring and control of economic resources, the extensive work of training developed by economists and care for the population, were central points on which turned the proceedings of the Committee on Local Bodies of the People's Power for the discussion in the 9th Ordinary Session of the Parliament, which meets in the Conventional Palace of Havana.

Since the creation of the commission in 2008 more than 200 working visits to all provinces were made, with good participation of the deputies. Although they value as positive the results achieved, it is required to continue working on issues related to the guidelines each year are responsible for the corresponding assemblies.   
 
During the exchange highlighted the commission makes periodic analysis of the deficiencies and progress made, and appreciates the opportunity to improve the regulations of the provincial and municipal assemblies.

In this period, for the first time, they invited the presidents of the provincial assemblies to have them known the measures taken in the attention to the opinions given by the people at meetings of accountability to citizens and offices, a mechanism that helps evaluate results.
 
They was a great effort in coordination with other institutions to carry out the necessary actions and prepare the bodies of the People in matters related to local and community development. The need to improve the work of the delegates of the local organs of People's Power, its link with the electorate and the methods to apply for their successful work were also topics discussed.
 
It was also known the need to improve linking and working systems of the leaders of the municipal assemblies with the delegates, as well as the importance of continuing to improve the integrated development work in the community, the analysis of the results taking into account the quality management.
